Lovense vs SVAKOM app-controlled sex toy and mobile app comparison

Lovense vs. Svakom: Which App-Controlled Toy Is Right for You?

Lovense vs. SVAKOM: Which App-Controlled Sex Toy Brand Is Right for You?

App-controlled sex toys have changed the way we think about solo pleasure, couples play, long-distance intimacy, public teasing, interactive experiences, and even how we incorporate technology into our sex lives.

And if you've spent any time shopping for connected pleasure products, two names probably keep popping up: Lovense and SVAKOM.

Both companies make high-quality, app-connected pleasure products. Both offer toys for solo and partnered play. Both allow partners to take control from a distance. And both have continued expanding well beyond the basic “vibrator connected to a phone” concept.

But they aren't interchangeable.

Lovense tends to shine when connectivity, interaction, and a larger tech ecosystem are the priority. SVAKOM tends to shine when design, stimulation variety, and having both connected and traditional toy options matter most.

So instead of asking, “Which brand is better?” the better question is:

Which brand is better for the way you actually want to play?

Let's break it down.

Lovense vs. SVAKOM Head-to-Head

Category Lovense SVAKOM Best Fit
App feature depth Extensive Robust Lovense
Long-distance play Major brand focus Strong functionality Lovense
Ease for casual app users Lots of features; can mean more to learn Generally more streamlined SVAKOM
Custom patterns Yes Yes Tie
Music/sound interaction Yes Yes Tie
Partner control over internet Yes Yes Tie
Voice/video communication Available within connected ecosystem Available in supported app experiences Both
Creator/cam integrations Extensive ecosystem More limited Lovense
Wearable play Excellent selection Strong selection Both
Stimulation variety Very broad Very broad, with strong design variety SVAKOM slight edge
Design/aesthetics Tech-forward and functional Sleek, polished and design-focused SVAKOM
No-app options Not the primary focus Many choices SVAKOM
Tech-lover appeal Excellent Very good Lovense
Sensation-first shopper Excellent Excellent SVAKOM slight edge
Overall “connected ecosystem” Extensive Growing Lovense

The important word here is fit. A five-star app doesn't make the wrong stimulation style the right toy for your body.

Meet the Brands

Lovense: Pleasure Tech First

Lovense has been developing connected pleasure technology since 2010 and has built much of its brand around app control, long-distance intimacy, interactive play, and toys that communicate with other devices and digital experiences.

Its current lineup is far larger than the handful of wearable vibrators many people associate with the name. Lovense now offers products for G-spot and clitoral stimulation, penis stimulation, prostate play, anal play, nipple stimulation, suction, thrusting, wearable play and more.

The big thing you're buying with Lovense isn't simply a toy.

You're buying into an ecosystem.

That makes Lovense especially appealing for:

  • Long-distance partners

  • Couples who enjoy giving each other control

  • People who love experimenting with sex tech

  • Wearable and public-play fans

  • Content creators and cam performers

  • People who want multiple toys to interact through the same platform

  • Anyone who sees the app as a major part of the experience rather than an occasional bonus

SVAKOM: Design Meets Interactive Pleasure

SVAKOM was founded in 2012 with an emphasis on combining sexual wellness products with innovative technology, quality, design, and accessibility.

The company has developed a particularly broad catalog, with traditional vibrators alongside app-controlled wearables, thrusting toys, pulsation toys, masturbators, prostate toys, warming products, rabbits, suction products and other stimulation styles.

On my own Sweetly Sassy Toys store, for example, the SVAKOM collection includes dozens of products spanning multiple stimulation categories and price points—not all of which require or even use an app.

That distinction matters.

With SVAKOM, you can enter the brand because you love a specific toy or stimulation technology and discover the connected features afterward. With Lovense, the connected experience is much more central to the brand identity.

SVAKOM may be especially appealing for:

  • People who care about design and aesthetics

  • Shoppers who choose by sensation first and technology second

  • People who want both app-controlled and non-app products

  • Couples who want remote play without needing a massive tech ecosystem

  • People interested in thrusting, warming, pulsation, suction or other more specialized sensations

  • Gift shoppers looking for something polished and premium

App Quality & Connectivity

This is probably the biggest reason people compare these two brands.

Lovense Remote App

Lovense has developed one of the most extensive connected pleasure platforms currently available.

The Lovense Remote ecosystem supports features including:

  • Local Bluetooth control

  • Long-distance partner control

  • Live control

  • Control of multiple toys

  • Toy synchronization

  • Custom patterns

  • Music and sound interaction

  • Voice and video chat

  • Messaging

  • Shareable Control Links

  • Interactive audio/video experiences

  • Creator and cam-platform integrations

Lovense also allows a user to create a Control Link that lets another person control compatible toys without that person having to download the full Lovense software—a particularly interesting feature for consensual remote play.

Compatible Lovense toys can also be synchronized so two partners' toys respond together during long-distance sessions.

Lovense App Pros

  • Extremely feature-rich

  • Built with long-distance interaction at the center

  • Excellent if you own more than one Lovense product

  • Strong interactive ecosystem

  • Particularly useful for creators and performers

  • Lots of ways to customize control

Lovense App Cons

  • More features also mean more menus, settings and options

  • Someone wanting simple “hand my partner the controls” play may not use half of what the app offers

  • The experience is best when you're willing to spend a little time learning the ecosystem

  • You're buying further into a proprietary brand ecosystem as you add devices

My take: If the app itself is one of the main reasons you're buying the toy, Lovense has a major advantage.

SVAKOM App

This is one area where I think SVAKOM sometimes gets underestimated.

SVAKOM's current app isn't merely a glorified remote control.

Depending on the compatible product, its connected features can include:

  • Close-range Bluetooth control

  • Long-distance partner control

  • Preset modes

  • Touch/draw control

  • Custom stimulation patterns

  • Music synchronization

  • Sound-responsive modes

  • Text communication

  • Video calling

  • Sharing control with a partner

  • Interactive video experiences

SVAKOM specifically promotes partner control “anywhere” through its app, and current products such as the Sam Neo 2 incorporate long-distance control along with customized modes and interactive content.

SVAKOM has also been expanding its interactive ecosystem through KooSync, which adds additional interactive video and Bluetooth-connected functionality for compatible products.

SVAKOM App Pros

  • More functionality than many shoppers realize

  • Long-distance control

  • Music and sound interaction

  • Custom pattern creation

  • Interactive options on compatible products

  • Good fit for people who want smart features without making the app the entire experience

SVAKOM App Cons

  • Not every SVAKOM product is app-controlled

  • Features vary by model, so compatibility needs to be checked before buying

  • The broader interactive ecosystem isn't as extensive as Lovense's

  • Shoppers need to pay attention to SVAKOM App compatible, physical remote-only and other product distinctions

My take: SVAKOM is no slouch in the app department. Lovense still gets my nod for overall ecosystem depth, but the difference is much smaller than “Lovense has long-distance technology and SVAKOM basically has a remote.”

It doesn't.

A Quick Note About Connectivity

Here's the decidedly unsexy part of app-controlled toys that actually matters:

They're still technology.

For most connected toys, the toy communicates with a nearby phone or device using Bluetooth. During long-distance play, the internet then connects the partners through the app.

That means your experience can be affected by things like:

  • Bluetooth permissions

  • Phone operating-system updates

  • Battery level

  • Background app restrictions

  • Internet quality

  • Distance between the toy and the nearby phone

  • App or firmware updates

So when somebody tells you an app-controlled toy “works from anywhere in the world,” that's generally describing the internet portion of long-distance control. The toy still needs a successful local connection to its controlling device.

That isn't a Lovense problem or a SVAKOM problem.

That's a Bluetooth-doing-Bluetooth-things problem.

Technology likes to keep us humble.

Long-Distance Couples: Lovense or SVAKOM?

Both brands can absolutely work for long-distance relationships.

Lovense officially supports live control from anywhere when both partners have a stable internet connection, while SVAKOM likewise supports internet-based long-distance partner control on compatible toys.

So the difference isn't simply:

Lovense = long distance
SVAKOM = not long distance

That's outdated.

The difference is the depth of the surrounding ecosystem.

Choose Lovense if:

You envision remote play becoming a regular part of your relationship and want to experiment with synchronized toys, video interaction, shared controls, multiple connected toys, media integration and other interactive features.

Choose SVAKOM if:

You primarily want a toy you genuinely love using by itself, but you'd also like the option to hand control to a partner across the bedroom—or across the country.

That's a subtle difference, but it's an important one.

Design & Aesthetics

Here's where brand personality really starts showing.

Lovense

Lovense products tend to look like sex tech.

And I don't mean that as an insult.

Their designs are generally modern, recognizable and built around the function they need to perform. The aesthetic often communicates:

Look what this thing can DO.

For someone who loves gadgets, connected devices and technology, that can actually be part of the appeal.

SVAKOM

SVAKOM often leans harder into sleek curves, polished finishes, softer palettes and lifestyle-oriented product design.

Its aesthetic communicates more:

Look how gorgeous this thing is—and wait until you see what it can do.

Neither approach is inherently better.

Design winner for the minimalist/nightstand crowd: SVAKOM.

Design winner for the sex-tech gadget lover: potentially Lovense.

See? This is why I don't like declaring winners without asking who's buying.

Functionality & Stimulation Options

This is another place where your body gets a vote.

A powerful app is lovely.

It cannot make you enjoy a sensation you don't enjoy.

Lovense's Current Ecosystem

Lovense currently offers products covering a surprisingly wide range of stimulation, including wearable G-spot toys, external wearables, mini wands, penis masturbators, cock rings, prostate toys, vibrating plugs, nipple clamps, suction stimulation, thrusting products and sex machines.

Recognizable examples include:

  • Lush 4 — app-controlled wearable G-spot egg

  • Ferri — magnetic wearable clitoral vibrator

  • Domi 2 — mini wand

  • Max 2 — vibrating and contracting masturbator

  • Edge 2 — adjustable dual-motor prostate massager

  • Hush 2 — app-controlled vibrating butt plug

  • Nora — rotating rabbit vibrator

  • Diamo — vibrating cock ring

  • Gemini — app-controlled nipple clamps

  • Tenera 2 — clitoral suction stimulator

  • Solace Pro — automated thrusting penis-stimulation system

  • Osci 3 — oscillating/heating rabbit-style vibrator

That is not a small product line anymore.

SVAKOM's Product World

SVAKOM also covers a huge range of stimulation styles. Current products include app-controlled eggs and wearables, traditional vibrators, flexible finger toys, prostate stimulation, pulsation, warming, thrusting toys and interactive masturbators.

Examples include products such as:

  • Phoenix Neo 2 — app-controlled wearable egg

  • Ella Neo — interactive app-controlled egg

  • Echo 2 — flexible app-compatible finger vibrator

  • Alex Neo 2 — interactive thrusting masturbator

  • Sam Neo 2 / Sam Neo 2 Pro — suction and vibration masturbators, with heating on the Pro

  • Vick Neo 2 — interactive heating prostate vibrator

  • Pulse Lite Neo — pulse stimulation

  • Mora Neo — interactive rabbit with thrusting beads

This is where SVAKOM gets particularly interesting for the “I know what kind of sensation I want” shopper.

So Who Has the Better Product Range?

The short answer? It’s essentially a tie—but for different reasons.

It's essentially a tie—but for different reasons.

Lovense now has a genuinely broad catalog and a strong advantage when you want multiple products living inside the same connected ecosystem.

SVAKOM offers tremendous variety across both smart and non-smart pleasure products and often gives shoppers more ways to choose based on sensation, form and design without requiring the app to be the star.

So:

Building a connected toy collection? → Lovense

Exploring different sensation technologies? → SVAKOM

Want to do both? → Congratulations, this is how toy drawers happen.

Price & Value

I wouldn't choose between these brands based on MSRP alone.

Both companies operate across multiple price points, and prices change frequently because of promotions, bundles, product generations and retailers.

More importantly, value depends on what you're paying for.

With Lovense, part of the value is the connected ecosystem.

If you use long-distance control, synchronized toys, interactive content, creator integration and advanced app features, that technology has real value.

If you never open the app after the first week?

Maybe not so much.

With SVAKOM, you can often choose a product because you want that specific combination of shape, vibration, suction, warmth, thrusting or other stimulation—and consider the connected features an enhancement.

Value winner?

Depends entirely on which features you'll actually use.

Buying twelve features and using two of them isn't automatically a better deal than buying five features you adore.

Body Safety, Waterproofing & Build Quality

Both Lovense and SVAKOM produce products using materials commonly found in reputable sexual wellness products, including silicone and ABS components.

But here's where I want you to shop smarter:

Never assume an entire brand has one universal material or waterproof rating.

Check the specifications for the individual toy.

For example, SVAKOM's Sam Neo 2 uses TPE and ABS and lists the removable sleeve as waterproof while the case itself is not waterproof. Other SVAKOM products use silicone and carry different water-resistance ratings.

The same principle applies when comparing any pleasure products.

Check:

  • Material

  • Waterproof or water-resistant rating

  • Cleaning instructions

  • Lube compatibility

  • Charging method

  • Insertable dimensions

  • Battery life

  • Warranty

  • App compatibility

The logo on the box doesn't replace reading the specifications.

Your anatomy will thank you.

Who Should Choose Lovense?

Lovense may be your better fit if:

  • Long-distance play is a major priority

  • You want your partner controlling you from another location

  • You love gadgets and connected technology

  • You want several toys that work inside one ecosystem

  • You want advanced app customization

  • You're interested in synchronized partner toys

  • You enjoy interactive media

Great Lovense Starting Points

For wearable internal stimulation: Lush 4
For wearable external stimulation: Ferri
For penis stimulation: Max 2 or Gush 2 Motion
For prostate play: Edge 2
For anal play: Hush 2
For wand lovers: Domi 2

Don't choose based solely on which product is most famous.

Choose based on where and how you like stimulation.

Who Should Choose SVAKOM?

SVAKOM may be your better fit if:

  • You're more sensation-driven than technology-driven

  • Aesthetics matter to you

  • You want smart features without needing an entire digital ecosystem

  • You like having app and non-app options within one brand

  • You're shopping for a premium-looking gift

  • You're curious about long-distance play but it isn't your only reason for buying

  • You prefer choosing the toy first and the technology second

Great SVAKOM Starting Points

For wearable internal stimulation: Ella Neo or another SVAKOM app-compatible wearable option
For external stimulation: Mini Emma Neo for compact, app-connected external vibration
For penis stimulation: Alex Neo 2 or Hannes Neo for interactive masturbation, depending on the style of stimulation you prefer
For prostate play: Iker Neo for app-compatible prostate stimulation
For anal play: Jordan for app-controlled thrusting and vibration
For G-spot or dual stimulation: Margot for G-spot, clitoral, warming and dual-motor stimulation
For wand lovers: Mini Emma for a compact wand-style option

That's actually one of my favorite things about the brand: you can shop by what your body likes.

Which Brand Is Better for Beginners?

Here's my mildly annoying sex-educator answer:

It depends on the beginner.

Choose SVAKOM if you're thinking:

“I want to figure out what kind of stimulation I like, and app control sounds fun.”

Choose Lovense if you're thinking:

“The app-controlled part IS what I'm excited about.”

Those are two very different buying motivations.

A first-time toy buyer doesn't need the most technologically advanced option available.

They need something that fits their anatomy, comfort level, desired sensation and actual plans for using it.

Which Brand Is Better for Couples?

Both.

But again, the kind of couple matters.

Lovense may be better for:

  • Long-distance partners

  • Frequent travelers

  • Couples who love teasing and remote control

  • Tech-loving couples

  • Couples who want two interactive toys

  • Couples exploring consensual public/wearable play

  • Partners who enjoy handing over control

SVAKOM may be better for:

  • Couples exploring toys together for the first time

  • Couples focused on discovering new sensations

  • Partners who want app control occasionally rather than constantly

  • Couples who value elegant design

  • People who want plenty of choices beyond wearable vibrators

And there is absolutely no rule saying you have to pledge lifelong allegiance to one pleasure-tech empire.

Can You Own Both?

Please. Of course you can.

In fact, for some people both brands make more sense than choosing sides.

You might prefer Lovense for:

  • Long-distance sessions

  • Wearable teasing

  • Partner control

  • Interactive play

And SVAKOM for:

  • A favorite vibrator shape

  • Warming

  • Thrusting

  • Pulsation

  • A masturbator

  • Everyday solo play

  • A stimulation style that Lovense simply isn't your favorite for

Your toy drawer is not a smartphone ecosystem.

Nobody is going to revoke your membership card because your vibrator and your masturbator have different logos.

Sweetly Sassy Toys Bottom Line

If you're asking me for one simple distinction, it's this:

Lovense is the stronger choice when the technology itself is part of your turn-on.

Its connected ecosystem, long-distance features and interactive capabilities are a major part of what makes the brand special. Lovense Remote currently supports long-distance control, synchronized control, voice/video communication and extensive connected features.

SVAKOM is the stronger choice when the sensation and product design come first—but you still want technology available.

Its app supports much more than simple Bluetooth control, including long-distance sharing, custom patterns and music/sound interaction on compatible toys, while the overall SVAKOM catalog gives you a huge range of shapes and stimulation styles.

And if you want both?

That may actually be the best answer.

Choose the toy that matches your body, your relationship, your play style and the sensation you're looking for—not the logo you think you're supposed to prefer.

Because the “best” sex toy isn't the one with the longest feature list.

It's the one you actually want to charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Lovense or SVAKOM better for long-distance couples?

Both brands offer internet-based long-distance partner control on compatible toys. Lovense has the more extensive connected ecosystem and would be my first choice when long-distance play is a primary reason for purchasing. SVAKOM is an excellent alternative when you're choosing primarily for the toy itself but also want remote partner play.

Do Lovense and SVAKOM work with iPhone and Android?

Both brands offer app experiences for iOS and Android devices. SVAKOM currently describes its app as compatible with both iPhone and Android, and Lovense provides its Remote software across supported platforms.

Is there a distance limit for long-distance control?

For internet-based partner control, geographic distance itself isn't the limiting factor. Both users need the appropriate connection and the toy must remain connected to its nearby controlling device. Lovense specifically describes worldwide live control with a stable internet connection.

Are all Lovense and SVAKOM toys app-controlled?

No. Lovense heavily emphasizes connected products, while SVAKOM sells both app-connected and non-app products. Always check the individual product description rather than assuming compatibility based on brand name alone. SVAKOM specifically identifies some products as physical-remote-only rather than app connected.

Are all Lovense and SVAKOM toys waterproof?

No blanket rule should be applied to either brand. Waterproofing and water resistance vary by product and component. Always check the specifications for the individual toy before using it in a bath or shower.

Can I use an app-controlled toy without the app?

Many models provide buttons on the toy that allow at least basic operation without the app, but functionality varies significantly. If app-free use matters to you, check the individual product before purchasing.

Are app-controlled toys good for public play?

Wearable models can be fantastic for consensual partner-controlled teasing in appropriate settings. Look specifically for toys designed for comfortable wear, secure placement and lower operating noise rather than assuming every app-controlled toy will work well under clothing.

And remember: public play should stay private to the people participating in it. Other people haven't consented to becoming part of your scene.

What happens if my app won't connect?

Start with the boring-but-effective checklist: charge the toy, confirm Bluetooth and app permissions, make sure the toy isn't connected to another device, keep the phone reasonably close to the toy and check for app or firmware updates.

Sex tech is still tech.

Sometimes foreplay includes troubleshooting Bluetooth. We live in exciting times.

Ready to Explore?

Want the deepest connected-play ecosystem?
Shop Lovense.

Want gorgeous design and lots of different stimulation options?
Shop SVAKOM.

Still have no idea what you want?

That's completely normal. Instead of choosing based on whatever toy TikTok, Reddit or your best friend swears is “the best,” start with the sensation and experience you're looking for.

Because pleasure products should fit you—not the other way around.

Educational use only. Communication, consent, comfort, and body-safe products always come first.
